Late last night, I felt inspired to update my music collection that I had grown quickly tired of. As a result, I spent time visiting various artists' pages. I finally landed upon Regina Spektor's (a favorite artist of mine), and was delighted to see that she had some new songs out.
Anyways, I'll cut to the chase. I started listening to her song, "Laughing With," and immediately fell in love. Not only was the song a catchy one, like all her others, but there seemed to be so much meaning in the words. After spending time listening to this song a few times over, I thought her message had so much truth attached with it. It's so true that people seem to believe that there are certain times that call for believing in God. These people love laughing at God and people who believe in Him. However, when they need Him to help in a hard situation, they turn to Him and hope that what they were laughing about may be wrong, afterall.
So true.
I have attached a greater portion of the lyrics below so that this post may make sense. (:

No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one's laughing at God when they're starving or freezing or so very poor
No one laughs at God when the doctor calls after some routine tests
No one's laughing at God when it's gotten real late and their kid's not back from that party yet
No one laughs at God when their airplane starts to uncontrollably shake
No one's laughing at God when they see the one they love hand in hand with someone else and they hope that they're mistaken
No one laughs at God when the cops knock on their door and they say "We've got some bad new, sir,"
No one's laughing at God when there's a famine, fire or flood
But God can be funny
At a cocktail party while listening to a good God-themed joke or
Or when the crazies say he hates us and they get so red in the head you think that they're about to choke
God can be funny
When told he'll give you money if you just pray the right way
And when presented like a genie
Who does magic like Houdini
Or grants wishes like Jiminy Cricket and Santa Claus
God can be so hilarious
Ha ha
Ha ha
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one's laughing at God when they've lost all they got and they don't know what for
No one laughs at God on the day they realize that the last sight they'll ever see is a pair of hateful eyes
No one's laughing at God when they're saying their goodbyes

soo, i am pretty sure this is the first time i've blogged in a few years ! i decided that i should get started again cuz i've been missing out for far too long. (: as i created my account with blogspot, i looked up after finishing the choosing of my username, only to see this story on tv about a girl who is sixteen years old but hasn't grown at ALL and is still the size and has the mentality of an infant. mmm, i am not so sure i want to stay thaaat young forever. ironic much? mmm, yes.
summer has been really relaxing so far, and has definitely had it's ups and downs. it has been the first of many. it is the first time i have taken summer classes [online classes, for that matter], the first time i have spent soo much time with my family, and the first time i have had such a long summer. seriously college, 3 1/2 months? talk about lengthy. but hey, i'm not complaining. i think i'll be thankful once i start up college
again. but i am already 1/3 done with my beautiful summer! i should definitely get to the beach again soon !
i just had a lovely chat on skype with my best friend in canada. we haven't talked in monthsss, so it was great to catch up. it's so hard keeping in touch with all your friends with the busyness of school and work.
